Equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. atomic clock, this travel alarm clock keeps time with split-second accuracy by automatically adjusting, if necessary, to the atomic clock's signals six times every 24 hours. The atomic clock, operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is one of the most accurate in the world. From its signals, this slim (5/8 inch thick) little clock (3-1/2 by 2-1/2 inches) not only shows the precise time but also displays on its LCD screen the date and day. (The day can be shown in English, Spanish, or French.) The screen also displays what North American time zone the clock is set for, and that zone can be selected by the user. The alarm is a crescendo, increasing in volume and intensity to wake even the soundest, jet-lagged sleeper. |
